Part of MCIC’s mandate is to work within Manitoba to build understanding and engagement on international issues. One of our main initiatives in this area is our Fair Trade Manitoba program. Through this program, MCIC works with retailers, consumers and organizations to spread the word about the benefits of fair trade and encourage its wider availability in the province.
MCIC participates on both Winnipeg and Brandon’s Fair Trade Steering Committees. Throughout the year MCIC hosts capacity-building meetings for Fairtrade actors at the municipal level. Sign up for our monthly newsletter so you don't miss any upcoming events!

MCIC is proud to be a Fair Trade Workplace since 2016.
The Fair Trade Workplace program recognizes offices that are committed to fair trade. Staff and visitors to MCIC have access to Fairtrade certified products like coffee, tea and sugar. Being a Fair Trade Workplace encourages us to be mindful of the true value of labour and the human costs of production. The solidarity of workers everywhere is a vital step towards a more just world.
