Celebrate Gender Equality Week with us at a special edition of Local Brews + Global Views



On Thursday, September 28th we will be at Good Earth Coffeehouse Seasons (Building #14, 455 Sterling Lyon Parkway) with Deborah Northcott, co-founder of Real Humanitarian (formerly Canadian Humanitarian). Real Humanitarian, an MCIC member, is dedicated to assisting disadvantaged children, their families and their communities break free from the cycle of poverty.


Join us for an evening of Fairtrade coffee, conversation, and celebration of gender equality as Deborah takes us through Real Humanitarian’s vocational training programs for women in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia followed by an open discussion on the power of educating young women.

Speakers:

Deborah Northcott.png (121 KB) Deborah Northcott is the co-founder and Executive Director of Programs at Real Humanitarian. A full-time volunteer since 2009, she served as child program development advisor, volunteer expedition coordinator, and fundraising event advisor. With the help of Ethiopian program managers, she developed the Child Centered Network Program Model, which is used in many of the after-school support programs of Real Humanitarian.
