Voices For Change 2021
It's LIVE. "Water is Life" premiered on February 9th, 2021 during the official launch of International Development Week in Manitoba ONLINE.
Voices for Change is back, this time in collaboration with MacDonald Youth Services. Three talented young men joined MCIC’s public engagement specialist, Anna Kroeker, and professional facilitators, Steve Locke and Kayla Fernandez, to write and record this powerful spoken word piece – all from home!
The team of passionate youth created this video from start to finish – writing and performing the poetry and creatively drawing the accompanying artwork. Together, these expressions of art tell a powerful story that explores inequalities in Manitoba.
Don’t miss out - as we dive deep into the waters of Canadian Indigenous communities, bringing forward frustrations, dangers, and desires of those who challenge and question the safety of their kitchen sink.
The students premiered their poem during the official launch of International Development Week in Manitoba on February 9, 2021.
