Lunch & Learn: Innovation Testing to Heal Trauma and the Community

Join us virtually on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, 12-1 PM (CT) for a collaborative event with MCIC Member Make Music Matter (MMM) and the Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT), Innovation Testing to Heal Trauma and the Community: Approach, Results, and Learnings from a FIT Testing Project in the DRC.

Discover what Darcy Ataman, Founder and CEO of MMM, and Justin Cikuru, Lead Therapist and Trainer, have experienced while testing MMMs' ‘Healing in Harmony’ program with local partner, the Panzi Foundation, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Responding to local interest, MMM have continued to evolve and expanded their ‘Healing in Harmony’ program to include male participants from the community. This session is an incredible opportunity to learn how they modified the project, what testing framework was used, how results were collected and measured, and some lessons learned. You’ll also get a chance to enjoy some of the music that has been central to this innovation as well as an opportunity for Q&A with Darcy and Justin.

Register for the event

The Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) is a national program administered by the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC), with many learnings and stories to share from Canadian SMOs testing social innovations to advance gender equality in the Global South.
