CUSO International: Women United for Food Security in Peru
The COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain problems, and food price inflation have been particularly hard on marginalized communities in Lima, Peru. By some estimates, it has set back the country’s poverty reduction efforts by ten-years. Through the Mujeres Unidas por la Seguridad Alimentaria y Ambiental (MUSA) - Women United for Food and Environmental Security program Cuso International, along with their partners, are responding to the crisis by working with women farmers and women’s networks to share knowledge, advocate for food security and support community-led projects and decision making.
Hear from Tania Shephard, CUSO International's Director of Program Strategy and Innovation and Pilar Garcia, CUSO International Peru's Country Representative, about their work empowering women through food security. The conversation over Zoom will take place on September 29 at 11:00 AM CDT.
