As part of the Inter-Council Network, MCIC stands in solidarity with the Tk'emlups te Secwepemc First Nation and all Indigenous communities as they experience the reopening of painful memories related to the injustices and abuses of the residential school system. We express our sincere condolences to the communities and the families of the children who never returned home. We also urge Canadians to support and act upon the 94 Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, particularly 71 to 76 which outline how to redress the legacy of residential schools.
